Hi there,

This summer has been incredibly busy for me and filled with some amazing adventures. I hope your summer has been equally exciting and you have either had some adventures or will soon. Remember I am always looking for fun travel stories to share so if you have a great photo from your last trip, or a great experience you would like to share, email me and I will share it in my next issue.

Here we go…

Where I Have Been:

Romance Travel Forum in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

I was lucky enough to be selected to attend the Romance Travel Forum in Punta Cana in June. Being hand-selected to attend the exclusive Romance Travel Forum was an amazing opportunity to further grow my knowledge and expertise as a romance vacation specialist.  The best way to serve my clients is through education and first-hand experience. I was in Punta Cana for 13 days total and was able to stay at four different resorts and tour a total of sixteen resorts while I was there.

My first stop on my trip was the Majestic Mirage where I spent 3 days learning about their 3 properties: Mirage, Elegance, and Colonial. Here is a short video that shows a bit of what I did while I was there: https://youtu.be/pQRSC4CQsKk

After my 3 days at the Mirage, the actual Romance Travel Forum Conference started and it was 5 days of non-stop classes, events, and networking. I was going from sun up to well after sunset every day but I learned so much and gained some new friends in the industry. Here is a video from the Romance Travel Forum: https://youtu.be/MrJ_HVo0LkY

During the conference, we had events at Secrets Cap Cana, Hard Rock Punta Cana, and AlSol Sanctuary. You can click the name to see my pictures from the events.

My favorite thing I did during the conference is attend Outback Adventures Dominican Republic. It was a fun, educational, and inspiring tour of the real Dominican Republic. All the agents who attended the conference were asked to donate school supplies and during our tour, we were able to go to a local school to give the teacher the supplies we had collected for his school. It was very heartwarming.

Once the conference was complete I was transferred to Dreams Dominicus in La Romana. That was the beginning of my AMResorts FAM (Familiarization Trip) that had me staying at both Dreams Dominicus and Secrets Royal Beach and touring Dreams La Romana, Dreams Palm Beach, Now Garden Punta Cana, Now Larimar Punta Cana, Sunscape Bávaro Beach, and Sunscape Dominican Beach. We also had a fun adventure at Dr. Fish Spa.

So yes… lots of fun but it was also work and I gained a ton of hands on knowledge of the resorts and suppliers in Punta Cana. If it is a destination you are interested in learning more about, let’s chat.

I also took a short road trip around Arizona to celebrate my 2nd Wedding Anniversary with my husband. I will wait and tell you more about that in the next issue.

Where I am Going:

My next adventure will be a short FAM Trip with Contiki. I will be flying up to Las Vegas and taking a tour of Nevada to California with them. All places I have been but it is for me to learn more about the tours offered by Contiki so I can sell it with confidence to my clients. Contiki is a tour company that offers over 300 trips spanning 6 continents for young travelers from 18 to 35 years old. At the end of my FAM Trip, I will arrive in San Diego to attend the ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) Global Convention where I will be attending classes and networking with travel suppliers from all over the world. Here is there short promotional video: https://youtu.be/iuLGSM1eL9s

My husband Nate and Daughter Toria are going to drive over and meet me in San Diego after the conference to celebrate my birthday on August 30th. It should be a fun time for all. You can follow along with my journey on Facebook.

Well, that is all for now. I hope you enjoyed following me on my adventures.

Your Travel Specialist,
Cindi Sanden
