With Paris in mind, just a reminder the Disney 2018 rates will be released in early November for us to confirm and add in the character dinner.

Regarding the extra night in London at the Sofitel airport hotel – I have included a transfer on the evening you land at Heathrow to Gatwick to spend the night at Sofitel Gatwick so that the following morning you literally just walk to the terminal. Traffic between the airports is busier during the day than at night, and you can have a relaxed breakfast before flying from Gatwick. We could do it the other way if you prefer and include the overnight at Heathrow with the morning transfer but this is what I would recommend.

You will also see that I included two full day tours in Copenhagen including Kronborg Castle and Malmo, among other highlights. I also included an overnight stay at Skt Petri which is a great boutique style hotel. You will have a Junior Suite connecting to a Superior Room here. You will be able to store your luggage during the day tour to Malmo on the 10th and then the driver will take you back to the hotel to pick up the luggage before transferring you to the airport for your flight to London.

A succession of kings continued to embellish the Palace up until the French Revolution. Thursday, August 9
Arrive Copenhagen
Skt Petri

Today, you will be met at the port and then depart with your private driver and guide to experience some of the finest of the Danish countryside and history.

We drive through beautiful forests north of Copenhagen to Hilleroed to visit the splendid moated Frederiksborg Castle, built in Renaissance style by King Christian IV in 1625 (entrance included). The castle is today housing a splendid collection of antiques, art and other treasures, as well as an impressive chapel, used for Royal marriages. We proceed to Fredensborg, the royal summer residence, built in 18th century Italian style and superbly situated amidst a magnificent park. After a photo stop we continue to Elsinore, the home of Kronborg Castle.

Kronborg Castle is well-known as the fabulous backdrop of Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet” and recently listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage. The castle was erected between 1574 and 1585 and offers a breathtaking view of the Sound, the waters between Denmark and Sweden.

You will walk into the castle to enjoy tapestries with a wealth of details, paintings on ceilings and walls, doors of carved ebony, magnificent halls and will imagine the luxurious balls and rich court life of the Danish Renaissance kings.

When visiting Kronborg Castle (entrance included), a great experience is to explore the creepy crypts and catacombs of the castle. Hidden underneath the Castle, Holger the Dane (Holger Danske), an imposing stone statue and legendary figure in Danish culture is sitting on his rock throne. It is said that if Denmark is ever in trouble, Holger the Dane will wake from his rock throne and defend her.

Before returning to Copenhagen, visit the prize-winning Maritime Museum of Denmark.

The unique experience begins even before you enter the museum. A sloping bridge takes you down into a former dry dock where you enter a fabulous underground museum, designed by the world-renowned Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) architects.

Here you will meet a colorful world of numerous exhibitions telling the story of Denmark, as one of the leading maritime nations both past and present. The museum’s rich collections are evocatively and dramatically exhibited with large video projections on the architecture. Here you can see, listen and interact as you discover the maritime world.

Following your day tour, settle into Skt Petri for an overnight stay.

Answers to some questions you might have:

  1. The rooms at the Conrad are interconnecting, and they are a Grand Deluxe Room with three single beds (for the children) and a King Superior Room with one double bed (for you).

  1. The Disneyland Paris package includes entrance fees and fast-pass, without a guide. However, a private guide can be arranged at an additional cost (it’s quite expensive at over $1,000 but please let me know if they wish to add this in and I will let you know the firm price).

  1. The Eurostar train is more convenient than flying, as it takes only 2-hours and 30-minutes from central Paris into central London, saving lots of time on airport transfers and waiting time in the airport itself. For the Eurostar, passengers are expected to check-in at the station just 45-30 minutes before the train departs.
